New work is up both online and in the hallways from 5th grade and 8th grade. Grade 5 is in the middle of a landscape unit and has completed a pastel drawing. They worked hard to show the “illusion of depth” through overlapping and use of fore, middle and background. Students also used a lot of intense color and blended to create true variation.
8th Graders have just completed their big project for the term, The Artist’s Pet including an art history research essay. based their work on famous pieces of art, but substituted animals in place of people and objects, or in one case, a flaming Giraffe! Can you tell which great artists are represented by the next generation?
Stop by FMS to see the work in person and get ready for the District Art Show at the Falmouth Public Library coming in April.
