There have not been any posts for awhile but we are back big time! Students have been working long and hard and are happy to present their fine work here on our online gallery. Three classes have finished work simultaneously and we all hope you enjoy.
Grade 5 has completed an abstract watercolor painting showcasing the many techniques they have learned with the challenging medium.
Grade 6 put the finishing touches on Chinese Dragons representing different elements, hopes, fears and dreams. The painting process also involved study of color theory and color relationships.
Grade 8 is happy to see the end of a complex still life set up which they have been studying since the beginning of the term. The initial observation drawings were the studies for the faster, looser Impressionist paintings. Knowing the objects and where the shadows and highlights would fall allowed students to paint quickly and confidently with bold brush-strokes and heavy paint.
