How About a Nice Cuppa

As the first term of the year wrapped up, 8th grade students wrapped up and took home some amazing and creative ceramic teapots.  After discussing tea ceremonies and the importance of the steeped beverage in cultures around the world, students looked at many examples of unique teapots.  We determined that all teapots need a spout, a lid, a handle, and must hold liquid without leaking, but beyond that the sky was the limit.  8th grader designed and built these vessels out of red clay, then glazed them carefully before the final firing.  Take a look at the many personal touches on this ancient design.
