Grade 5 Heads to the City

As we pass the halfway mark in the year, 5th graders have wrapped up a fantastic painting project based on the geometry and tight living quarters of metropolitan areas.

The focus for these cities was overlapping (seen in all the tall buildings crammed into small spaces), pattern repeating in windows, stairways, and building facades, and finally the challenge of sticking to a MONOCHROMATIC color scheme.  Students could use any shade or tint of their chosen color but had to contend with red skies and purple grass in their parks.

Enjoy you visit to these imaginary metropolises.
