A Rainbow of High-Rises

We have a lot of new work ready to cover the FMS walls as well as the digital pages of this blog.  Many classes have wrapped up projects in the past week and as the days get shorter and Day Light Savings time looms ahead, what better way to brighten our hallways than with the 5th graders city images.  Students began by drawing cities using rulers and templates, making sure to keep lines straight and use geometric shapes like the architecture of real cities.  The second part of the lesson focused on color theory; students had to choose and single base color, then test and create a range of tints and shades of the same color.  This is a monochromatic color scheme.
