T3 Impressionist Paintings

The students have spent many classes closely observing a group of still life objects.  They first drew the objects in pencil, focusing on drawing techniques, values and careful observations.
They then moved onto acrylic paintings, working hard to consider and emulate the style of the early Impressionist painters like Cezanne, Monet, Renoir and Manet.

The emphasis of these paintings is on the use of visible brush strokes to capture light and shadow and give a quick “impression” of the observed objects..
The students have worked very hard and created some wonderfully loose and energetic paintings.
