Block Printing

Fifth graders used the ancient traditional methods of relief block printing to create spring-inspired flower prints. They pressed their designs into foam plates using wooden styluses and then rolled ink onto them with brayers. They printed on paper first in black and white and then using many blended colors. Getting the correct amount of both ink and pressure was key to creating a quality print.
