F1 Heritage Pottery

Eighth graders researched their own family histories to find styles, designs, and patterns to decorate their hand made pottery. These ceramic vessels began as pinch pots and were then completed using the coil method. After the coils were smoothed and the pots dried and fired, students used underglaze to add patterns drawn from their personal cultural heritage, be it native American, Eastern European, Celtic, or Asian.  These beautiful works are will be on display in Mrs. Mercer’s office until the end of the quarter.
