S2 Ceramic Creatures

Seventh grade students first drew and then sculpted original creatures with clay.  While the animal designs were limited only but the students’ imaginations, they needed to use what they knew from science about adaptations to make sure that however strange looking, their creatures made sense in their own environments.  Why does it have a long neck? Why does it have wings and a fish tail?  Why are it’s teeth so big?  Why is it red instead of blue?  Nature has created some amazing animals, now seventh grade art students have added their own ideas.
