5th graders looked at the abstract watercolor paintings of Vasily Kandinsky as inspiration for this work. After practicing many watercolor painting techniques they created a sharpie drawing that included a minimum of 3 organic shapes, 3 geometric shapes, and 5 lines.
Once the shapes and lines divided the page into sections, students then went in with their watercolors and added color. Mood and emotion were factors to consider as they painted. Can you tell what was on the mind of each artist?
