T2 Grotesques

Students looked at medieval gargoyles and the drawings of Renaissance artist Leonardo DaVinci.  We then discussed the many facial features and details beyond “eyes, nose, mouth”. Students then designed and sculpted a hollow head and face with a flat back to hang on the wall.  Farmer Justin joined us after the pieces had been glazed and fired and helped us plant chives, lettuce, and spider plants in our bizarre heads.
