Why Art?

Do you wonder why we bother with art in the first place?  Are you unsure as to the importance of art in a well rounded education? Please take a moment and look at some of the quotes, videos, and other media to answer some of these questions.  Feel free to add your own thoughts.

    Great site! And a wonderful way to promote the arts!
    The high school holds an art show each spring. This year’s Art show is scheduled for May 13th-23rd in the FHS Library. You are all invited to come!

    It is wonderful to have a glimpse inside the art studio at FMS along side the student art. It forms a rich context to see the tools and materials that went into making the work complementing the work itself. It makes me want, even more, to come see the work in the halls of the school. What a fantastic provocation.

    Why Art? Art is a way of being and knowing that is anchored in meaningful products. Art builds connections between perceptions, observations, reflection, and scholarly knowledge. Art is a way for learning to become visualized, concrete, and real.
